Sewanee Earns Zag / NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award

GILBERT, Ariz. - Announced on Tuesday, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association has released the 2017 Zag Field Hockey / NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award. Sewanee has been selected as one of the institutions.

The Tigers finished the fall 2017 semester with a term grade point average of 3.259, and the program's cumulative GPA is 3.07.

Since the award started in 2003, the program has earned the accolade for the 10th time, including the eighth straight year and nine of the last 10.

In total, 130 Division III programs have earned the 2017 Zag Field Hockey / NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award. The Division III National Academic Team Award recognizes those programs that earned a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the Fall Semester of the 2017-18 academic year.

Joining Sewanee from the Southern Athletic Association includes Centre, Concordia Wisconsin and Transylvania.
