ATLANTA - The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced on Monday that Katya Waters was selected as the Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week.
The senior had an excellent weekend in goal for the Purple and Gold at Earlham College. Against the hosts, the Glen Ridge, N.J. native played in all 70 minutes, collecting her first clean sheet of the season, with nine saves.
On the season, Waters has played in 175 minutes in goal with 23 saves, one goal against for an average of 0.4 and has a .958 save percentage.
Waters and the rest of the Tigers will open the home portion of the schedule with a contest with Lindenwood-Belleville. The event is set for a 6 p.m. start from Puett Field on Sept. 22.
