Late Second Half Goals Edge Sewanee Past Earlham

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Sewanee field hockey team tallied two goals in the 60th minute to defeat Earlham, 2-0, Saturday afternoon at Darrell Beane Stadium.

The Quakers (0-2) and Tigers (2-1) were held scoreless, with Earlham out-shooting Sewanee, 6-5.

In the second half, the Tigers finally broke through in the 60th minute with not one, but two goals. Virginia Barry found Jo Jo Young's pass for her first goal of the season.

31 seconds later, Hannah Tompkins netted her first goal of the season unassisted.

Katya Waters (1-1) played all 70 minutes in goal for the Purple and Gold, saving nine shots on goal.

The Tigers wrap up the weekend at Earlham with a neutral site contest with Oberlin. The match is slated for 12 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. CT.
