Field hockey closes out the regular season with senior day against Transylvania

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 28, 2016)  The Sewanee field hockey team will close out its regular season with a 12:30 p.m. (CST) match against Transylvania, Saturday, at Puett Field.

Prior to the contest, Sewanee will honor its four seniors, Kat Mulligan, Carrie Anderson, Caroline Brennan, and Catherine Estes.

As a team, Sewanee is 4-8 overall and 2-3 at home this fall. The Tigers have lost four matches by a single goal. That includes a 2-1 loss at Newberry last weekend.

Individually, Anderson currently leads the league with seven assists. Many of those passes came on goals from Virginia Barry, who ranks fourth with nine scores.

Additionally, keeper Katya Waters ranks fourth in saves with 71 stops while ranking third in goals against at 23.

Transy travels to the Domain with a 5-9 overall record. The Pioneers have won four of their last six matches after starting the season with six straight losses.

Jessica Chandler is the leading scorer for Transy. The attacking forward has nine goals and two assists.
