Equestrian Earns Reserve High Point to Cap Off Opening Weekend

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee equestrian team opened competition this past weekend at the Howell Equestrian Center. The team finished fifth out of nine teams Saturday, but they came back Sunday to finish as a Reserve High Point Team.

SATURDAY TOP PERFORMANCES
-Justin Neely took home top honors in the Open Equitation over Fences event.

-Aelin Hill finished fourth in the Open Equitation over Fences and on the Flat events.

-Catherine Walthall, in her first Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) show, finished second in the Novice Equitation over Fences.

-Morgan Roudabush (C’16) earned top honors in the Alumni Equitation on the Flat.

SUNDAY TOP PERFORMANCES
-Neely finished third in both the Open Equitation over Fences and on the Flat.

-Hill also collected fourth place honors in the Open Equitation over Fences event.

-Lucy Whaley competed to a fourth-place finish in the Intermediate Equitation on the Flat.

-Elizabeth Oxley, in the Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter, won second place honors.

-Roudabush took home the top honor on Sunday in the Alumni Equitation on the Flat.

Sewanee will travel to Maryville Oct. 27-28 for the Maryville Hunter Seat Show.
