2017-18 YEAR IN REVIEW: Equestrian

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee equestrian team’s future looks bright after its first season with new coach Emily Cavender.

Season Recap
The Tigers captured third place honors in the Sunday schedule at the MTSU Hunter Seat Show in February and a second place finish at Murray State in March.

Sewanee had one student-athlete selected to IHSA Zone Championships after her performances at the Regional Show. She was named Reserve Champion in the Walk/Trot/Canter division. At Zones, she finished in seventh out of 10th place.

Memorable Show | MTSU Hunt Seat Show, Feb. 10-11
The Tigers opened the spring schedule with a show at Middle Tennessee State. Two Tigers earned top honors in their respective events.

Allison Bernardino took home the championship in the Beginning Walk/Trot/Canter event, while Virginia Klemens won the Novice Equitation on the Flat.

As a team, the Tigers finished in fifth after Saturday’s events, and the program finished third at the end of Sunday’s competition.
