Sewanee Equestrian Performs Well at Murray State

MURRAY, Ky. - The Sewanee equestrian team wrapped up its regular season at the Murray State Seat Show over the weekend.

SATURDAY TOP PERFORMANCES
-The team finished as a reserve high point team, finishing second out of 10 teams.

-Ruthie Carey finished third place on Novice Equitation over Fences before winning the Novice Equitation on the Flat.

-Lucy Whaley claimed third place on the Intermediate Equitation over Fences.

-Delaney Evans finished fourth place Intermediate Equitation over Fences and third place Intermediate Equitation on the Flat.

-Maddie Baugh finished place Novice Equitation over Fences.

-Aelin Hill earned a second place finish during the Open Equitation on the Flat.

-Catherine Walthall took away top honors at the Novice Equitation on the Flat.

-Madison Wright- won the Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter event.

-Christopher Chin claimed second place Beginning Walk/Trot event.

SUNDAY TOP PERFORMANCES
-Ruthie Carey won the Novice Equitation over Fences, and she took away fourth place in Novice Equitation on the Flat.

Catherine Walthall took home third place at the Novice Equitation on the Flat.

UP NEXT
Margaret Dupree will next compete in the IHSA Regional Championships, hosting by the University of the South on Friday, March 9 from the Sewanee Equestrian Center.
