MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 19, 2016) – Led by wins from Aelin Hill and a pair of second place finishes from Buckley Wallace, the Sewanee equestrian team continued its fall season at the Maryville Show over the weekend.
On Saturday, Hill finished third in the Open Over Fences and then was second in the Open Flat. A day later, she won the same two events. Joining her in the top-two was Wallace, who finished second, in the Open Over Fences on both days.
In the Intermediate Division, Kathryn Miller, who already qualified for the IHSA Regionals, finished fourth in the Flat on Saturday. Mary Marshall Fariss, who finished fifth, joined her in the top-five over the weekend.
Additionally, Leslie Goodman finished third in the Novice Over Fences, as did teammate Lindsay Stevenson. In the same division, Delaney Evans finished fourth in the Over Fences while taking third in the Novice Flat. Madison Baugh, who also finished third on Sunday in the Novice Flat, joined her.
Finally, Margaret Dupree finished third on Saturday in the Walk-Trot-Canter while finishing fourth in the same event on Sunday. Additionally, Madison Wright finished fourth behind Dupree on Saturday while Mallory Wright rode her way to a runner-up finish in the Beginner Walk-Trot-Canter on Sunday.
Sewanee will have this weekend off before returning to action at the USEA Intercollegiate Team Challenge in Chatt Hills, Ga., October 29-30.
