Marshall Farris, Carey, and Streitweiser all lead Sewanee during first show

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 3, 2016)  Led by High Point Reserve champion Mary Marshall Farris, Ruthie Carey, and Sophie Streitweiser, the Sewanee equestrian team performed well at its first show of the season last weekend.

All three Tigers have pointed up and out of their divisions, which automatically qualified each rider for regionals in the spring. 

Marshall Farris led the way with a win and a second place finish in the Intermediate Flat. She was joined with wins by Carey , who won twice in the Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter while Streitwiser won the Beginner Walk-Trot-Canter. 

Additionally, Iris Harrison had four top-five finishes in the Open while Buckley Wallace finished with two runner-up places also in the same event.

Margaret Dupree also rode well with a second-place finish in the Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter while Leslie Goodman (Novice), Meagan Hopson (Novice), Elizabeth Oxley (Adv. Walk-Trot-Canter), and Cal Oakley (Beg. Walk-Trot-Canter) all finished third in their respective events.

Finally, Lindsay Stevenson earned second and fourth place finishes in the Intermediate.

Sewanee returns to action October 15 and 16th at the Maryville IHSA Show in Maryville, Tenn.
