Equestrian wins Reserve Team Championship; Williams and Farris qualify for Regionals

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Sept. 28, 2015) – The Sewanee equestrian team had an outstanding opening show this past weekend at the Howell Riding Center and Barn.

The Tigers were named the Reserve Champion while Kimberly Williams and Mary Marshall Farris both qualified for the IHSA Regionals.

On Saturday, Iris Harrison won the Open Over Fences while Buckley Wallace finished third. Wallace and Harris would then finish in second and third in the Open Flat. In the Intermediate Flat, Aelin Hill took first while Delany Evans won the Novice Over Fences. That edged out teammate Lindsay Stevenson, who finished second.

In the Intermediate Fences, Farris finished third while Williams finished third in the Walk-Trot.

Finally, Rosemary McMaster and Maddie Baugh both tied for first in the Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter while Evans and Jackie Culver tied for second in the Novice Flat.

On Sunday, Sewanee continue its success. Farris won the Intermediate Fences while Stevenson won the Novice Over Fences.

Additionally, Hill finished third in the Open Over Fences while Sophie Streitwieser finished third in the Walk-Trot.

Sewanee returns to action at the Maryville IHSA Show on October 31st and November 1st in Maryville, Tenn.
