SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee baseball team fell in a doubleheader to SAA opponent Centre College on Saturday, falling 5-3 and 4-0 from Montgomery Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-Centre used a three-run fourth to start the scoring for both teams thanks to a three-run dinger.
-Sewanee chipped away at the deficit, scoring single runs in the fourth and fifth innings. The home team broke the shutout with a Trey Akins wild pitch.
-The next half inning, Centre added a run to make it 4-2.
-Max Murray made it a one-run game again in the seventh with an RBI single.
-However, the Colonels pushed the lead back to two for good with a sacrifice fly.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-A pitcher's dual the entire contest, the Colonels used a leadoff error and some timely pitching and fielding miscues to scratch across four runs in the seventh inning.
-Drew Mancuso (0-2) took the loss in game one, allowing four earned runs in 7.1 innings, striking out seven batters.
-Trey Holland (0-2) allowed two earned runs in 6.1 innings with six punchouts in game two.
CENTRE KEY STATISTICS
-Seth Hagan launched a three-run homer en route to a 3-for-4 performance in game one.
-Mason Falbo recorded two hits and RBI each in the second game.
-Nick Hoffman fanned 10 batters in seven innings, allowing just three runs on seven hits.
-Aaryn Chandler (2-0) allowed three hits of six-inning shutout ball for the Colonels in the evening cap.
-Drew Schacht pitched the final inning in both games, and he recorded the save in the opening game.
The series finale is slated for noon Sunday from Montgomery Field.
