NASHVILLE, Tenn. 9/19/09 - Junior Chris Hague (Kensington, Md., Bullis) paced the Sewanee men’s cross country team with an impressive ninth place finish in today’s Vanderbilt Invitational cross country meet at Percy Ward Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
Hague turned in a time of 27:00 in the 8K race. Preston Lennon (Charlotte, N.C., Providence Day) was Sewanee’s next finisher in 61st place with a time of 28:40.
Lipscomb University captured the men’s team championship and David Nilsson (25:29) of Jacksonville State took top individual honors.
In the women’s race Vanderbilt took team honors and Janel Blancett (18:13) was the top individual finisher.
Top Sewanee runners were Mitzi Harrington (Warner, N.H., Dana Hall) (20:14 – 53rd) and Kendra Tippens (Winston, Ga., RS Alexander) (21:17 – 67th).
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, October 3rd at the Greater Louisville Classic.
