SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee has announced its incoming class of freshman baseball players, according to Scott Baker, head coach for the Tigers. The Tigers got 11 commitments for the 2010 season. In-state players that highlight the group are Chattanooga’s Chase Riemer (Baylor), Nashville’s Quentin Ross (USN), Franklin’s Jacob Simpson (BGA) and Murfreesboro’s Scott Ward (Oakland).
“We're excited about the possibilities with this class,” said Baker. “We wanted to increase pitching depth, which we may have done. We have also increased the level of competition within the team, which must continue for us to continue to improve. Coach (Adrian) Norris did a fine job of coordinating and finalizing things with this group and we're looking forward to getting them on the field.”
