ANGOLA, Ind. – Sewanee played at Trine on Sunday and picked up a convincing 20-7 win to close out the weekend and the spring break schedule. Sewanee led 9-2 at the half. Sewanee’s offense was the story of the day, outshooting the Thunder 37-19.
Carly Grimm (South Salem, N.Y., John Jay) led Sewanee with three goals and an assist.
Catherine Sanders (Peachtree City, Ga., Starr's Mill) also scored three goals on the day.
Amy Nusbaum (Norfolk, Va., Norfolk Academy) grabbed eight saves on the day in goal. Sewanee also led in draw controls, gaining control 15 of 29 times. Ashley Koscis and Karla Grieser led Trine with two goals each.
Sewanee is 3-4 and will host Guilford on March 27. Trine is 1-1 so far in 2009.
