ASBURY, Ky. – Sewanee competed at NAIA member Asbury College this weekend and both the men and the women were second place out of five teams. Host Asbury took the top spot for both.
Philip Link (Atlanta, Ga., Lovett) led the Sewanee men’s effort with first place touches in the 100 breast (1:00.76) and the 200 breast (2:13.56). Will Overton (Jacksonville, Fla., Episcopal) also was first place in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:05.54.
For the women, Sara Neil (Decatur, Ala., Decatur) won the 200 IM (2:14.04) and the 100 butterfly (1:00.17). Haley Shepherd (Evans, Ga., Evans) was the 200 backstroke winner with a mark of 2:14.48 and Kaitlyn Breiten (Cooperstown, N.Y., Cooperstown Central) won the 1 meter diving event with a score of 164.85.
Sewanee’s next competition will be at Rollins College in Florida on January 13 after its annual Florida Training Trip.
