Mitzi Harrington of Sewanee, a senior runner from Warner, N.H., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run through Saturday, October 3, according to Jeff DeBaldo of the SCAC. “Mitzi had worked really hard over the past few years and has improved each year. She is starting to realize the rewards of several years of training and will continue to improve this season. I am proud of what she has accomplished and look forward to watching a strong finish to her cross country career,” said head coach Jeff Heitzenrater.
Harrington ran a lifetime personal best at the Louisville Classic to lead the Sewanee team. Her time of 20:07 was a 45 second improvement over her previous best and placed her 38th out of the field of 298 runners.
