CONYERS, Ga. 10/31/09 – Junior Chris Hague (Kensington, Md., Bullis) turned in a 12th place finish, good for all-conference honors at the SCAC Men’s Cross Country Championships hosted today by Oglethorpe University.
Hague finshed in a time of 25:26 over the 8K course. Senior, four-year runner Paul Dixon (St. Louis, Mo., St. Louis Priory) ran the race of his career crossing the line at 28:23, a personal best.
Jackson Brainerd of Colorado College was the men’s individual winner with a time of 24:29. Colorado claimed the conference team championship.
In the women’s race, Sewanee turned in one of their stronger performances of the year. Mitzi Harrington (Warner, N.H., Dana Hall) was the top Tiger runner with a time of 25:29. Sarah Haroldson (New Bern, N.C., St. Andrew's) and Kendra Tippens (Winston, Ga., RS Alexander) also performed well.
The DePauw women captured their seventh consecutive SCAC title. Lauren Reich was the women’s individual winner with a time of 22:12.
Sewanee will next compete in the SSE Regionals in Greensboro, N.C. on Saturday, November 14.
