University of the South Athletic Director Mark Webb enters his 22nd year at Sewanee. Since his arrive, Webb has made an incredible mark on one of the nation's most storied Division III programs.
After 12 years at Vanderbilt University, Webb took the helm at Sewanee in July of 1995. Through his guidance, Sewanee’s Athletic Department remains focused on a vision of having all Tiger athletic teams and student-athletes competitive at the highest level while continuing to elevate athletic facilities.
Under Webb’s leadership, Sewanee has enjoyed tremendous success athletically and academically. The Tigers have produced multiple individual and team conference championships while a number of student-athletes have won major national academic awards, including the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.
Additionally, Webb has chaired and oversaw the creation of the Sewanee Athletic Hall of Fame, and was a key factor in helping create the newly formed Southern Athletic Association.
After ushering the Tigers into a new technological age, Webb has overseen a multi-million dollar capital improvement campaign, which continues to help all 24 Sewanee programs.
In addition to making his mark for the Tigers, Webb continues to make an impact as a key member of several prestigious NCAA and University committees. Webb currently serves on the National Association of Collegiate Director of Athletics and the District III NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Committee.
