From the legendary football team of 1899 to the teams of today competing in national intercollegiate tournaments, Sewanee has a long tradition of excellence in varsity athletics. Now there's a new way for Tiger fans to show their support. The University of the South is happy to introduce the YSR Club, an annual membership organization that will support the athletic program and enhance athletics overall at Sewanee.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sewanee played at Birmingham-Southern Friday night and topped the host Panthers 19-12 after leading 12-4 at the half. The Panthers outscores Sewanee 8-7 in the second, but Sewanee held up for the seven-goal win.

SEWANEE, Tenn. 3/29/09 - After falling behind 0-4 to start the game, Sewanee would rally with a 4-0 run of its own to take a 6-5 lead before Denison rallied with a 3-0 run to go up 8-6. Sewanee scored with 35.6 seconds remaining in the first half for the 7-8 half time score.

SEWANEE, Tenn. 3/27/09 – Catherine Sanders scored six goals and assisted on another and Megan Velie had five goals as Sewanee outlasted Guilford College 21-15 in a D-3 women’s lacrosse match played in Sewanee on Friday.

ANGOLA, Ind. – Sewanee played at Trine on Sunday and picked up a convincing 20-7 win to close out the weekend and the spring break schedule. Sewanee led 9-2 at the half. Sewanee’s offense was the story of the day, outshooting the Thunder 37-19.
