SCAC Softball: Sewanee's Warfield and Polena Honored

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee softball players Carly Warfield (Nashville, Tenn., Ensworth) and Erin Polena (Pittsburgh, Pa., Mt. Lebanon) have been honored by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference this week, according to Dwayne Hanberry of the SCAC. Warfield was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team and Polena was named All-Conference, honorable mention, for her play this year.

SEWANEE, Tenn. 4/12/10 – Behind the arm of Carly Warfield (Nashville, Tenn., Ensworth) and the bat of Alex Ginsburg (Hollywood, S.C., Pinewood Prep), the Sewanee Tigers won both ends of an afternoon doubleheader over the Fisk Bulldogs.  Sewanee won the opener 8-0 and the second game 12-4.

SEWANEE, Tenn.  4/3/10 – The DePauw Tigers defeated the Sewanee Tigers in two SCAC softball games played today at Sewanee.  DePauw came away with an 11-0 win in the first game and defeated Sewanee 27-0 in the second.

DePauw Sweeps Sewanee in SCAC Softball Doubleheader
SEWANEE, Tenn. 4/2/10 – The Sewanee Tigers and the DePauw Tigers opened a four-game SCAC softball series today in Sewanee with the Tigers from DePauw coming away with a doubleheader sweep.  DePauw shut out Sewanee 10-0 in the opener and then took the nightcap by the score of 22-3.
