Sewanee, Tenn. – Sewanee coach David Poggi announced today that Ryan Garikes (Washington, D.C.) and Matt Green (Jacksonville, Florida) will join the Tigers' Class of 2014.

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Sewanee alum Kyle Rote, Jr., C'72, was elected to the U.S. National Soccer Hall of Fame this month. Rote was the 1973 rookie of the year in the North America Soccer League, the 1973 scoring champion, a 1973 All-Star and was the leading scorer for the Dallas Tornados for three years. He was also known for his three-time victory in the ABC Superstars Competition. Rote also represented the the country on the US National Soccer Team for three years.

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Brian Maloney of Fort Worth, Texas will be become a member of the University of the South Tigers Men’s Soccer team this fall. Maloney, a 6’1” 160 central defender from Aledo High School, is head coach David Poggi’s first commitment to the Class of 2014.

Now there's a new way for Tiger fans to show their support. The University of the South is happy to introduce the YSR Club, an annual membership organization that will support the athletic program and enhance athletics overall at Sewanee.

SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2009 fall term and a record 780 student-athletes made the list. Since its inception in the fall of 1997, just over 15,500 male and female student-athletes have been recognized for their contributions in the classroom. Sewanee had 64 student-athletes named to the list.
