05.16 | Men's Lacrosse
SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Named its inaugural All-SCAC men’s lacrosse team earlier this week and Thomas Moore (Dallas, Texas, Episcopal) and Jack Thomasson (Charlottesville, Va., St. Anne's-Belfield) received first team nods for Sewanee, while Jeb Leva (Lexington, Va., Episcopal ) and Pierce Leonard (Charlotte, N.C., Culver Academy) were named to the second team. Moore, a freshman, also received co-Newcomer of the Year Honors for his play. Additionally, Sewanee's Neat Clark (Houston, Texas, Houston Episcopal School) was named to the SCAC’s All-Sportsmanship Team for his sportsmanship and leadership this year.

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Sewanee men’s lacrosse team honored senior Terrell McWhirter (Nashville, Tenn., Montgomery Bell Academy) Sunday for Senior Day and did it in fine fashion, picking up a 19-6 SCAC win over Southwestern. The Tigers got out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, earning the 13-goal win.

St. LOUIS – Fontbonne hosted Sewanee in men’s lacrosse action on Sturday and after Sewanee took a 5-3 first half lead, Fontbonne rallied for the 8-7 win over the visiting Tigers.

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee hosted Whittier in men’s lacrosse Saturday night and after leading 8-2 at the half, the visiting Poets topped the Tigers 12-6. Sewanee rallied, scoring four unanswered goals in the third quarter to bring the score to 8-6, but the Poets held the Tigers off fourt he six-goal win.

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee played in its first ever Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) men’s lacrosse game* Wednesday night and after trailing late, tied the score at seven with a minute and a half left on a Brendan Eisenbrandt (Pittsburg, Pa., Shady Side Academy) goal. Birmingham-Southern’s Jacob McPherson scored the unassisted game-winner for BSC with 25 seconds left to give the Panthers an 8-7 final win.

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Sewanee hosted Oberlin in men's lacrosse action Saturday and picked up a 16-14 win over the visiting Yoemen. Sewanee led 10-6 at the half. In the second, Oberlin had a late rally to pull to within two, but the Tigers held the Yoemen off for the two-goal win.
