SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee women’s lacrosse player
Allison Bland (Houston, Texas, St. John's) has been named Tiger of the Week for her play the week of March 29-April 4, 2010.
Bland had two goals on only two shots and added an assist as the 8-2 Tigers beat Carthage 20-4 on March 29. Overall, Bland's current totals of 14 goals and 14 assists after 10 games eclipse her totals from all of 2009 when she recorded 10 goals and 7 assists. She is currently leading the team in shooting percentage with a 93.3% (14 goals on 15 shots).
"Allison has become a terrific leader on our attack,” added Sewanee coach Michele Dombrowski. “She is a smart and balanced player, equally comfortable going to goal or setting up her teammates with the assist. Her intelligence and game sense has enabled us to get off to a tremendous start and will be counted on as we finish out the regular season and work towards a postseason bid."
