The Sewanee baseball team returns six starters, its top three pitchers and its lead hitter from a year ago. Those factors, combined with a talented crop of newcomers should help the Tigers find a way to get back in the thick of the SCAC Eastern Division race in 2010.

ROME, Ga. – The Sewanee men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams competed at Berry College Saturday and came home with wins on both sides. The women topped the Vikings 114-45 and the Sewanee men won 101-59.

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Sewanee opened its 2010 indoor track and field season Saturday by hosting the Tiger Indoor Invitational. No team scores were kept since most teams traveled with incomplete squads.

MEMPHIS -- Rhodes beat Sewanee 60-44 in SCAC men's basketball in Memphis Friday night. Sewanee got out to an early lead and was leading 24-22 at the half, but Rhodes rallied for the win.

MEMPHIS - Sewanee and Rhodes faced off in SCAC women's basketball Friday night and the host Lynx topped the visiting Tigers 86-54. After falling behind 49-13 in the first, Sewanee outscored Rhodes 41-37 in the second.

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- King Oehmig, former Baylor School coach, has been named the interim head men's golf coach at Sewanee, according to Sewanee AD Mark Webb. The Rev. Dr. Oehmig is also an Episcopal priest and is editor in chief of Synthesis, a weekly publication designed to offer preaching and worship aid.
